Installer errors and what to do

Most installs finish without a message. If you do see one, find it below. When you contact us (hello@dvlop.com), please copy the exact message text and the version line from the installer's Help panel.

"The app is damaged", "can't be opened", or a SmartScreen warning

This should not happen with a fresh download – it almost always means the download was interrupted and the zip is incomplete. Delete the DVLOP-THINGS folder and DVLOP-THINGS.zip, download DVLOP-THINGS.zip again from your account page, unzip and open the app again. If it still won't open, tell us whether you are on Mac or Windows and the exact message.

"integrity check failed for packs/…"

The installer was open while we published a new version of that pack, so it is still holding the old details. Nothing was written to your computer. Quit the installer completely (not just close the window), open it again, and click Install on the pack. If it happens again after a fresh start, a VPN or firewall may be blocking the download – try another network.

The row reads "Retry"

Your download dropped part-way. The installer retries on its own up to three times; if it still can't finish, the button reads Retry. Make sure you're online and click it. If it keeps failing on a good connection, contact us with the pack name.

"Could not reach dvlop.com to verify …"

Before installing a paid pack, the installer checks it against your account with dvlop.com. It couldn't get through, so the pack was not installed. Check your internet connection, VPN or firewall, then click the row again. Free items are not affected.

"This pack is not on your account."

Either the pack was bought under a different email, or your sign-in has expired. Sign out, sign in again, and try once more. If you bought the pack and it still says this, contact us with the email you ordered with and the pack name.

"dvlop.com did not verify … for this account"

Your DVLOP account does not have that product on record. Contact hello@dvlop.com with the pack name and your account email so we can check the order.

"This account is currently disabled. Contact hello@dvlop.com."

Your account has been disabled on dvlop.com and the installer can't sign you in. Please email hello@dvlop.com.

"Email and password not recognized"

Check the spelling of your email and try the password on dvlop.com itself. You can reset it there with "Forgot Your Password" – not in the installer.

"Download authorization is missing"

Quit the installer, open it, and sign in again. If it keeps happening, contact us with your account email.

I closed the window during an install

Mac: the app keeps running and the install finishes in the background – open it again to see the rows. Windows: closing the window quits the app and cancels the install; nothing needs cleaning up – open the installer and click Install on the pack again. Leave the window open until every row reads Installed ✓.

The previous installer said "success" but nothing was installed (macOS 27)

On macOS 27 the retired DVLOP & THINGS installer no longer writes to your own user folders – it reports success, but the files end up in the administrator account's home folder where your apps never look. Nothing needs cleaning up. Download DVLOP-THINGS.zip from your account page and install with the DVLOP Installer; every pack will show Install the first time, which is expected. If the old installer left files owned by the administrator, the DVLOP Installer may ask for your Mac password once to repair them – that is safe to accept.
